The following is the assignment. Analyze one of the two versions of Aristotle’s function argument attached below. First, lay out the argument in premise format, then, state whether you agree or disagree with the argument. If you agree with the argument, state why you agree. One way to conceive of this is to imagine that you are trying to explain the argument and its importance to a friend that has never heard of it. In your explanation, you must use evidence in support of your position. Statements like “I feel” or “I believe it’s right” will not necessarily be convincing. If you disagree with the argument, then use the skills to prove that the argument is either not valid (the conclusion does not follow from the premises) or not sound (one of the premises is incorrect). You must use evidence to support your position.
Paper must be no less than 1,000 words, and no more than 1,350 words. It is due on Friday, October 19.
