Create a pre-exercise meal for a real or fictitious athlete. Begin with a description of the athlete and the demands of his/her sport. Explain the timing and type of competition. Determine the number of calories and the proportion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins to be consumed prior to competition. Determine foods to be eaten to meet those requirements if the athlete were able to consume foods 3-4 hours prior to competition. Provide an alternative eating plan in case the athlete is not able to eat that early.
