“PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A SEXUAL HEALTH CLASS SO THE POWERPOINT DOES HAVE SOME SEXUAL GRAPHIC ON IT”
the purpose of this project is to interview someone who identifies as a sexual and/or gender minority (SGM) and write a 2–3-page report about the experience.
The following steps will help you develop your report:
Conducting an interview
Develop thought-provoking interview questions to ask your interviewee. You can ask as many questions as you think is necessary, as long as you have enough material to include in your essay. Attach these questions to the end of your essay as Appendix 1 (this will not count toward the page limit).
2. Choose someone to interview. This can be anyone who falls under the SGM umbrella. They must give their consent to be interviewed for this assignment. Make sure to mention your interviewee’s identity as accurate knowledge of who falls under the SGM umbrella will count for points.
3. Interviews should last a minimum of 30 minutes.
Writing the Report
The first part of the report should be a summary of the information you learned in the interview. Summarize the interview and describe their experiences as a SGM.
2. The next part of the report should include information you learned from the interview. What new information did you learn from their perspective? How are their experiences similar or different to your own? Did any of your opinions change after the interview? What did you gain from the interview?
3. The final part of the report should tie information from your interview back to powerpoint materials/topics. Remember to cite materials and any outside sources using APA-formatted in-text citations and an APA-formatted reference page. This section should be at least a page.
The report must be 2-3 pages typed and double-spaced (not including references or the Appendix), with 1-inch margins and size 12, Times New Roman font. Cite course materials and any other sources using APA in-text citations and an APA-formatted reference page. Outside sources are NOT required, but course materials must be used and cited appropriately.
