This section helps you to prepare for writing your directed summary. First, try to write down the first sentence of your directed summary. We have talked about the format of the first sentence. In this sentence, you are expected to: 1. Identity the article and the author; 2. Directly respond to the question; 3. Summarize the most major argument of your summary.

Then, make an outline for your directed summary out of the points you list in the take home question. Carefully consider the logical order of the outline. Which point come first? Followed by which point? Offer a brief explanation in all the transitions between the points.
Also, are the points you listed sufficient? Do they present a complete scenario of the aspect discussed in the writing topic? Feel free to add additional points.
