You have just been put in charge of a V.A. Hospital in your area. Youve read about the problems that V.A. Hospitals have been having but youve been assured that those problems are not prevalent in the location youve been assigned. You have a staff that has been at the hospital for years and they are excited to have you as their new boss.
One of the first requests you make is to review the data on veteran care and waiting time.
The data all looks good when you review it, but then you decide to spend time with the veterans getting care. They tell you about wait times of months and problems getting appointments. Several tell you that they know of veterans who died waiting for care. Others tell you how they got the wrong prescriptions. Others tell you about a lack of respect.

What are the ethical considerations?
What might you say to your staff?
How will you build a vision?
What part does society play in how things are being done?
What does this indicate about trust?
How does the vision of the government play into this?
