Critical Assignment#2: Action Research Part II: Analyzing and interpreting data and Develop an Action Plan
Directions: For Part II, you will analyze and interpret data, discuss conclusions/reflections, and develop and action plan for your area of study. This is the second part to your mini-action research project. Please add on to your existing Power-point or Keynote presentation-finalizing your action research project. Your power-point should be a total of 20 slides addressing Part I and Part II of your action research study.
Analyzing qualitative requires some practice. Gather preliminary information by conducting two (2) brief observation sessions and taking field notes while you observe. Then conduct two (2) brief narrative interviews with people on the same topic. Finally, sit down with your narrative data and attempt to reduce it by coding similar categories. Then summarize it by identifying the main features of each resulting category. Similarities/differences, themes, patterns, discrepancies.
2. Action planning is the action part of action research. Finish your action research report by discussing the results of your data and identify what types of things you noticed. Similarities/differences? Strengths/weaknesses? Report your results using an appropriate type of graph of the figure, along with your written explanation in the power-point.
3. Develop a plan for sharing and communicating the results of your action research at your school site. Who would benefit from this data, and explain how you present this material. Who is the audience? What did you learn from your findings? How can the results impact your classroom or school? Please lists all of your resources in your references at the end of the power-point.
