Describe the interaction between personal and institutional
Discuss the importance of attending to both personal values and patient
Individual. May I introduce the idea that CNI College has a unique culture and subsequently so does this cohort (your class)? We are making choices based on the culture within the institution based on norms and standards that are in place. Think about how the nursing profession impacts your future choices for work and career paths.
In those next steps one must ask, Do I agree with the institutions values that I am seeking employment? How do we adjust to meet the mission and values of a future employer? On the other hand, do we seek employment at institutions aligned with our personal and professional values? The internal battle that may be present if there is an imbalance of our values to that of the organization may cause one to be dissatisfied to the point of leaving an organization. I want to hear from you regarding the prompt for week two.
