4. Explain how both official and unofficial statistics contribute to our understanding of drug use and abuse, giving one example of each, and also explain how the data collection methods differ. Be sure to include the advantages and disadvantages of each.
5. Explain the dynamics of labeling theory, incorporating into your answer the concepts of moral entrepreneurship, stigma, role engulfment, and primary and secondary deviance
Each question is worth 20 points, with a total possible score of 100 points.
The score of this assignment will be averaged with the original exam score to determine your new score for that exam: students receiving a score of 70 on the exam and 90 on the extra-credit assignment will receive a new exam score of 80.
Students must use the class text and notes for the assignment. All answers must be double-spaced, Times/New Roman 12 pt. font, 1 inch margins. Each answer to each question must be at least 1 full page long, yielding a total of at least 5 pages for the assignment (if page requirement is not met, points will be deducted).
