1- What are the advantages and disadvantages of developing separate brands fo a commodity such as electricity?
2- Explain the advantages each of the smart power brands has to offer the company?
3- What challenges do each of the brands face? Are there strategic changes to any of the brands that could suggest smart power to position itself well for the future?
4- What product attributes might consumers be looking for when selecting an electric company? Brainstorm ideas for other products or services smart power could offer?
5-How Vulnerable is a brand’s image when a catastrophic event occurs? What could smart power do to minimize damage to its reputation? Are any of its brands particularly vulnerable to a backlash?
You should be able to calculate sales for each brand given the statistics offered in the case. Also, you should be able to calculate the percentage of housing stock that is HOA’s and multi-unit dwellings.
