This essay is being written after reading the book Never Let Me Go By Kazuhiro Ishiguro. My goal for the essay is to write about the identity in the book but if you can find a better element to write about that is fine. These are the instructions the teacher gave us: Your third essay for this course will develop a thesis analyzing a certain element of a novel. The essay will include elements of summary, close reading, and analysis. The word count minimum is 1400 words. My expectations for your work:
A clear main idea encapsulated in a thesis statement and supported throughout the essay
A demonstration of research and analytical thinking rather than a reporting of facts or ideological assertions
Paraphrase, quotation, and summarization
Thoughtful organization and transitions between paragraphs
A well-edited document free of errors in grammar and punctuation
In-text citation and a works cited page
1400+ words in length, not counting the works cited page
