One to two page essay engaging a question or concept from the readings this week. You may focus on one text or you may examine a term as it is deployed different by different authors. The goal of this assignment is to explore an issue of relevance to the weeks theme. You do not need to summary the text, but should be explicate the concept or issue as it appears in the text, consider the nature of the argument put forth by a given author, and then offer a generous but critical analysis. Critical analysis does not mean that you are attempting to repudiate the argument of the author, but to understand the operations, axioms and proposals of the texts.
