1. Examine why barriers to accessing health care are often experienced by Indigenous Australians. In your essay provide examples of the barriers experienced by Chatty and his family in relation to him accessing palliative care, and identify factors that enabled Chatty and his family to access care when they did?

2. Consider the statement that Ros (palliative care nurse specialist) made, Chatty said, Thank you for making me feel safe. I think for Chatty it was that he trusted me with cultural care as well. I didnt pretend to know what I should or shouldnt do, but I listened to him and he taught me what to do. Discuss Cultural Competence and provide examples of how the healthcare staff involved with Chatty demonstrated this.
