Causal Analysis does more than summarize from a cause or effect perspective. An analysis that offers a clear assessment of the problem along with a viable reason or result pertaining to the issue is what makes an effective causal perspective. Remember that in a causal paper the cause/effect relationship can occur in one of the following ways:
State a cause (the reason) and then examine its singular or multiple effects (results)
State an effect (the result) and then trace the effect back to a singular or multiple causes (reasons)
Create a series of links that show a cause > leading to an effect > which creates another cause -> leading to another effect
Please note the above is just the beginning. The thesis must do more than state the facts, otherwise, it is useless. In offering a causal analysis, there should be a goal to include a solution, or at least a better understanding of the effects. To simply say that a particular action led to a specific result is ineffective unless this effect is not readily clear or easily tied to the action. Choose your approach to the topics below wisely and make sure your thesis is arguable and requires analysis to be proven. Before attempting to write this paper please review Chapter 11 and Guide to Writing a Causal Argument.
ASSIGNMENT: Write a cause or effect argument on one of the following topics below:
