Instructions
1. Select one resource (article, research paper, etc.) you plan to use for your upcoming argumentative research essay. The resource. (Tip: use the strongest, best resource you have found so far; you do not have to use this resource in your final essay reference list unless you decide to keep it.)
2. Write a one-paragraph summary of the article (150-200 words).
Topic sentence: include information about the author and source of the article; include the main idea of the article
Supporting sentences (4-6): include the main ideas and key details; do not include irrelevant supporting details
Concluding sentence: paraphrase the main idea of the passage and explain the reason you have selected this resource for your upcoming essay.
3. Write a one-paragraph response to the article (150-200 words).
Topic sentence: state your opinion / stand regarding the main idea of the article
Supporting sentences (4-6): explain your opinion
Concluding sentence: restate your opinion and show how you are going to use this resource in your upcoming essay.
4. Include the active ) of your source at the end of your assignment.
Note: You do not need to use in-text citations for this assignment. Remember to use quotation marks for the direct quotes, if you use any.
