Every year the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce (Fayetteville,Ga) hosts an Annual Golf Tournament that brings together community and business leaders. The Golf Tournament has three primary goals:
Serve as a fundraiser to raise money for Chamber operations. The Chamber CEO would like to see a 10% increase in net profit (money after expenses) from the previous year.
Provide networking opportunities for Chamber members and their guests.
Provide sponsorship opportunities for Chamber members who want to increase their organizational visibility with community leaders
The Golf Tournament is six months away and you have been asked to create a marketing plan to help the Chamber accomplish its goals for the Golf Tournament. In addition to the communications channels in the previous exercises, there is also a core of Chamber Ambassador volunteers who help out at events and are good at spreading word of mouth information. Youve been given a $2,500 marketing budget to help with promotional and advertising expenses.
Create a Golf Tournament marketing plan no more than 4 pages in length that should include the following as a minimum:
Restatement of the event goals and suggested metrics on how to measure goal attainment (e.g. number of registrations sold, dollar value of sponsorships made).
Recommended theme for the Golf Tournament and suggested campaign ideas to support that theme
Timeline and frequency of suggested promotional activities and communication tasks
