Write a 1,200 word paper on one of the following themes or related theme:
1) Today, tolerance is seen as the King of the Virtues. But what exactly is tolerance? And is the endorsement of tolerance therefore an acceptance of moral skepticism? Make sure you consider Shafer-Landaus arguments.
2) Among the various arguments in favor of moral skepticism and against moral realism, the existence of widespread and sincere moral disagreement seems to be the most persuasive and durable. What is the nature of this argument, and can it be defeated? Make sure you consider the arguments of Shafer-Landau when making your case.
3) Consider the best argument in favor of moral skepticism (if its neither tolerance nor moral disagreement). Can it be defeated, or no?
4) Russ Shafer-Landau argues that moral skepticism is actually a dogmatic position. What does he mean, and is he correct?
5) Consider Platos arguments for moral knowledge in light of Shafer-Landaus advocacy of moral realism. Do the two thinkers reinforce each other?
