Using the pinch table below, evaluate the 8 assigned articles (ATTACHED). Note that just because an author classifies their article as a certain design, you may not agree, so call it as you see it and dont doubt yourself! Be sure to note any questions you have for each article (after doing a deep-dive to see if you can determine your own answer) so that I will know where you might need a bit of coaching. Note that the FAME criteria provided in your lecture material (Levels of Evidence) are just examples of how to evaluate each criteria. You may have other things that come to mind for each FAME criterion as you analyze each article. I have selected these articles to provide you an example of different types of study designs. Take the time to study each one to strengthen your critique skills (not so much for the findings). I will do my best to respond to questions you note in your pinch table!
Be aware that you will most likely have differences in what you report between students. Because you are novices (to some degree) at critique, be sure to provide as thorough a review as possible to demonstrate your current understanding. You do not need to use full sentences (i.e. bullet points are expected for most columns), but you should provide enough evidence that I can follow your thought process and evaluate that there is depth to your critique methods. Be sure to list your articles in alphabetical order on the table by primary author. I prefer you do not have a separate table for each article; place each article with your critique in a single document.
Include page numbers at the top of each page of your table.
