Read Feder, Chapter 6 Expanding Intellectual Horizons. The assignment this week is a little different, so read the instructions carefully.
Chapter 6 Instructions: Read the Overview, Prelude, Chronicle, and the subtopics that follow i.e., the entire chapter. You will include these as selections in the above. Do not select more than one titled section from any Reading. Also, state only the specific page/s on which your discussion can be found.
Each student will select a subheading in Chapter 6 and summarize it following the instructions below (summarize, in your own words (paraphrase)), in compliance with the word count). EVERY TOPIC MUST BE DISCUSSED BY SOMEONE. PLEASE DISCUSS ONLY ONE SUBTOPIC OR SECTION OF A SUBTOPIC.
Each student will select the Prelude OR Chronicle OR ONE of the subheadings 1 to 10 OR any one of the other subheadings that follow, up to and including The Case Study Close Up. The Case Study must be discussed separately from the
Grandmother Effect.
EXCEPTIONS: Item #2 (discuss The Spear Thrower, p. 173, separately/Only); Item #10: Symbolic Expression up to the Production of Art Only. NEW SUBTOPIC: Begin a separate discussion at We can imagine many
on page 183. Only one of these is required for the assignment (Exceptions and New subtopic).
