You will submit a Research Proposal based on your annotated bibliography which will include a literature review (and any additional sources that you have gathered to date). The literature review IS NOT a grand sweep of ALL possible research published on your topic. The review lays the ground work for justifying the need to examine a topic and the approach you will use to study your topic. Thus, when you write your literature review, you are trying to persuade the reader that your topic is important and that you are using the correct approach. Research that helps you define your research problem or identify factors that may cause your research problem are good candidates for inclusion.
The proposal will be 10-12 pages in length and will contain the following:
a definition of the main problem/issue that your paper will address
a description of how your topic is discussed/described in the literature
the objective of your study
how you plan to do your study.
Items a), b), c) will comprise the introduction party of your final paper and should comprise about 40% of your final paper.
