Please follow exact instructions
-Research and compile your own set of related texts related to the topic. Then, you will define the controversy and analyze and synthesize your chosen sources. You’ll then write a short rhetorical analysis of three of the chosen texts.
This set should consist of at least 8 texts (no more than 10 texts), including -4 viewpoint texts (opinion pieces such as op-ed columns, video or audio)
-2 information texts (informational pieces such as newspaper articles, video, or audio from a trusted news source)
-2 scholarly articles, books, or chapters (from an academic journal or scholarly book)
For the synthetic overview section, you will -Define the controversy: What is at stake? Who are the stakeholders (the people involved in and affected by the controversy)? How are they involved in and affected by it?
-Evaluate the purposes of these sources.
-Explain how the controversy link to the course theme (“crisis”)
For the rhetorical analysis section, you will select three of the sources and
-Analyze the texts using these questions , What is the message of the text? ? Who is the audience for the text?
? What is the exigence for the text?
? What is the text’s purpose? What does it hope to achieve? ? What is the text’s material means of communication?
-Summarize the main points and rhetorical strategies used in the pieces -What appeals are used and to what effect?
-Identify strengths and weaknesses in the rhetorical strategies that you identified. What other, more successful strategies could an author use if they were to respond to these texts? -Based on the analysis, how effective was this argument for its intended readers?
