2. What if you were planning to teach a nutrition topic in different centers in your preschool classroom? What topic would you choose? How would you teach the topic in different centers (at least 4) in your classroom? Explain how this meets both DAP and the Preschool Learning Foundations.
If I were to teach a nutrition topic in different centers in my preschool classroom, I wouldnt teach them all the same I would talk about different nutrition topics. I chose health, hygiene, prevent from injury and oral. In one of my classrooms, I will teach health and give them more knowledge and understanding of what the benefits of health are eating healthier choice of food and food that will help them to grow stronger. For example, vegetables, fruits and good source of protein. As a teacher, it is important to educate them and provide them healthier choices of food inside the classroom. Next, I will teach my other children how to wash their hands from coming out of the bathroom. It is important to teach them step by step on how to prevent from getting germs. First, I will teach them to get a water to wet their hands then get a soap and then while theyre rubbing their hands for 16 seconds then they rinse their hands and then they dry their hands with a paper. How to prevent from injury? I will have rules poster to teach them step by step how to keep themselves from the injury by using their walking feets instead of running because of Furnitures that are inside the classroom. Also, when they go outside, Ill provide them helmets if they want to ride the bike so that they do not get hurt, and I will go over the safety of the playground by telling them dont walk on the slide. Lastly, I will teach them the importance of oral. Making sure that they brush their teeth correctly and go on dept and provide them a toothbrush and making sure theyre brushing it in the right motion and getting all of their teeth. How does this meet both DAP and preschool learning foundation? well they both teach the benefits of all four domains that I mentioned in this paragraph and they both talk about the importance about them.
