An individuals self-care consists of taking steps in order to protect or improve their own health. A variety of benefits can be gained from engaging in self-care activities, including reduced stress, improved concentration, fewer frustrations and a greater sense of happiness. Some examples of self- care involves regular sleeping routines, good nutrition, a hobby you enjoy and expressing gratitude.
Working long hours and putting others needs first maintenance affair with myself care need/ plans. Often I am preoccupied with taking care of everyone around me mentally emotionally physically and financially. After this is done, I have a little time for self-care since I am either at work, doing an assignment, or going to school.
Excepting help when I need it as one of the negative strategies I should avoid. It is difficult for me to admit that I am not capable of carrying the world on my shoulders, but it is imperative that I ask for help and receive it. In this way I avoid being burnt out.

If you implement your plan how might you feel?
If I implement each and every plan that is above I will feel as though I have accomplished a lot. These are things that I have been working on for the past four years. Although some areas are more stronger than others I am not yet at a place where I feel comfortable with my progress. I need to put more time and effort into my self-care routine because without South Karen I will brain out causing me so then have anxiety depression and stress because I cannot reach my goals.
What was it like to assess and plan for your self-care?
To assess and plan for my self-care was something that I truly needed. After COVID-19 it became clear to me how important south care is and I only focused on the physical aspect of self-care. I did not focus on other parts of my self-care which this chapter in this activity has highlighted. You cannot self care one part and expect everything else to fall in place you have to south care each and every part to be well-rounded and balanced in this life.
As a counseling student, why might it be important to focus on self-care?
As a Counseling student it is important to focus on self-care because without having knowledge of how to care for yourself and caring for yourself it would be hard to help other people with their self-care. You have to practice what you preach.
