In this first week of class we have seen Robert Dahls definition of a democratic process. Dahl claims that this process is fair.
At the same time, we have said that Dahls definition of fair is not about the outcome of the process. It is about the process itself. A democratically-made decision, Dahl claims, is a fair one. That you may disagree with that decisioneven very stronglyis not, Dahls view, a problem of fairness.
In this assignment, you have the chance to think through what fairness means, and what you agree with. Please start by reading this article. Then, write a 600-900 word essay answering these questions:
Who benefits from access to gifted education, and who does not?
What would a fair policy regarding gifted education be, and how does your own perspective inform your judgment?

Use essay format, including an introductory paragraph with a thesis sentence and a separate concluding paragraph (5 points)
