The three most common social determinants are education, socioeconomic status, and health. Social determinants are essential factors that exert and influence over individuals health. The most common national/international databases are World Health Organization or an individual state government database, such as the portfolio of health affairs.
Of the three listed the most I believe education is the determinant that is the most preventable. My community is struggling in this factor because there are so many options to choose from. You have public, private, charter, and now a new polytechnic institute which is pulling families in several directions on what to choose. You would think with all the options that families would be excited but with polytechnic being new this school year and the charter schools taking over no one really knows where to send their kids; outside of where they’ve been going. I would not want my child to be a trial study. If everyone is entitled to a good education how do you know what to pick when there are so many options.
