A Journal response would be the individual’s thoughts/reaction to a work under
study. The response can be personal, academic, or interpretive – in other words, the
response is open ended. There is no one right answer. Usually, the goal of a
Journal response is to consider the work under study, in this case Hall’s Essay, and
move to a professional/personal observation that could prove fruitful for study.
