Tourism in Pittsburgh
1- The name of the article is “How A City With 446 Bridges Deals With Infrastructure.”
According to “How A City With 446 Bridges Deals With Infrastructure” (2016) that Pittsburgh
has more than 440 bridge in the city. That’s why it’s called “The City of Bridges.” Also, its
reflect on Pittsburgh in a historical way. Moreover, “How A City With 446 Bridges Deals With
Infrastructure” (2016) mentioned that there are more than 18 bridges are recorded as
“structurally deficient” for couple reasons (“How A City With 446 Bridges Deals With
Infrastructure”, 2016). One of the bridges is under reconstruction; the bridge will take three years
to be done (“How A City With 446 Bridges Deals With Infrastructure”, 2016).
I think I would like to use this article for my research paper because I’m going to write about the
bridges as kind of tourism in Pittsburgh.
2- The name of the article is “South Side.”
As reported by Cool Pittsburgh (n.d.). The main street in the South Side is East Carson Street.
According to Cool Pittsburgh (n.d.) the street starts “from flashy Station Square to hip and
urbane SouthSide Works.” you could find a lot of entertainments; such as unique buildings,
coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and shopping stores (Cool Pittsburgh, n.d.). Also, there is a stage

for free live music front of the Cheesecake Factory, and there are lots of apartments to rent for
students (Cool Pittsburgh, n.d.).
Actually, I see this article is so helpful for me because “South Side” will be one of my main
point in the research paper.
3- The name of the article is “Pittsburgh History.”
As stated in Visit Pittsburgh (n.d.) Pittsburgh was called as the “Gateway to the West.”. VP (n.d.)
mentioned that Pittsburgh has a lot of natural resources and that helped Pittsburgh to be an
industrial city. According to VP (n.d.) Pittsburgh has enrolled in the history of U.S. in different
ways; for example, the French and Indian War (1758), and the American Civil War
(1860s).Also, VP (n.d.) illustrated that how they put rules to protect their workers during their
dark days in Homestead Steel Strike. Moreover, this article talks about “the generosity of
industrial giants” (VP, n.d.). According to VP (n.d.), when the resources started to end between
the 1970s and 80s, Pittsburgh began to use other resources which are “education, medicine, small
manufacturing and research” (VP, n.d.).
I think I will use this article because I would like to write about the history of Pittsburgh in the
introduction as general information.
4- The name of this article is “A Shopping and Eating Guide to Pittsburgh’s Strip District.”
According to Jeremy (2016), describes Strip District has many stores, so every time he goes
there he discovered a new spot. Also, Strip District has many international stores from around
the world (Jeremy, 2016). Strip District neighborhood was an industrial area (Jeremy, 2016).
Jeremy (2016), illustrated that Strip District situated outside Pittsburgh’s downtown, next to the
banks of the Allegheny River.

Also, this Article will help me a lot also on the main points.
