Write a comparison/contrast of the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts with one other professional code relevant to your field (e.g., CEC, APA, NAEYC, codes for related service providers).
What I have so far:
I chose to compare and contrast the American Psychological Association(APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA) Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts. Both codes set forth specify essential guidelines for ethical professional conduct which evolved over the years out of necessity due to drifting and inappropriate professional behavior. The BCBA codes are based on the APA regulations. They are more similar than different in encompassing principles of behavior. The APA is focused on cognition while the BCBA concentrates on behavior. There is an increased focus on the ethics of animal research in the APA.
