What is a Position Paper? Position Paper is an essay detailing your countrys policies on the topic to be discussed in your committee.
? Position Paper should only cover the information obtained from the delegates own research.
? It shouldnt consist of irrelevant information, but expected to cover detailed points about the perspective of your assigned country towards the specific topic of every committee that will be discussed in the Conference.
? Please, add bibliography or footnote citation (in the Harvard citation format) while writing your Position Paper for avoiding plagiarism.
? The Position Paper with a large amount of plagiarism will NOT be accepted by the DAIS members of EAS MUN.
? The point of reference and the assigned States policy statements should be mentioned and explained clearly regarding the topic.
? The delegates are kindly requested to write down the sub-concepts of the topic which they are able to have more discussions on and the universal legislations which arent agreed by the assigned State.
? Why is Position Paper important? Position paper enables all the delegates in a Council to familiarise themselves with each others positions and ultimately in forming their respective strategies.
Specific Format:
? Position Paper is 1 to 2 pages maximum (with Font size:12, Font:Times New Roman, Line spacing:Single in a Word Document).
? Type Delegation from Member State on the first line of the first page (example: Delegation from Mexico)
? Type Position Paper for the ?Committee? on the second line of the first page (example: Position Paper for the Commission on the Status of Women)
? Its acceptable to use national symbols, infographics, related data with tables or graphs in your position paper written for EAS MUN.
? Submit your position paper in Word Document format. The filename should be committee name and the assigned country (example: OHCHR_Venezuela)

A good position paper requires the following format to be followed:
? Brief introduction to your country
? The brief history concerning the topics and committee
? The effect of the issues of the committee on your country
? State your countrys policies
? Justification of the countrys policies with respect to the issue
? Impactful quotes from your countrys leaders about the issues
? Actions taken by the government for solving the problem
? Universal or regional Conventions signed by the country
? The relationship between UN and your country to explore solutions for the
problem
? The assigned countrys future plans on accomplishing the UNHCRs
resolutions
? The relations with other countries and their impact on the position of your
country
