This Midterm will be a timed essay (90 minutes) totaling about 1,000 words. It will be a response to an assignment prompt provided by your instructor. The subject will relate to the course themes.
Use MLA format including parenthetical citation (in-text citation) and a Works Cited entry on the last page of the essay. Please see the specific structural and content required points below:
An original title specific to the essay.
An introductory attention-getting hook.
Transition sentences which lead to the thesis statement.
A concise and arguable thesis statement which presents the authors point of view and provides direction for the essay.
Three or more supporting body paragraphs which give reasons, examples, and integration of selected words, sentences, or phrases from a provided text as evidence for the thesis.
A strong conclusion which summarizes the evidence, reflects the thesis, and provides a specific viewpoint on the subject of the essay.
Please note that the midterm exam needs to be written in the third person point of view (he, she, they, Dr. or Reverend.)
