Theology and Leadership Reflection (Due Wednesday, October 5).
Complete a brief, preliminary statement of your theology of leadership ( 3 pages).
Your theology of leadership should be based on some intersection of broad theological principles (e.g., “hospitality,” “justice,” etc.), paradigmatic biblical texts (e.g., John 13:1-17, Phil. 2:1-11, etc.), and biblical characters (e.g., Deborah, Jeremiah, Paul, and Jesus etc.)
It should articulate an overall understanding of the nature and purpose of theologically-formed leadership.
Although you can take this assignment in a number of different directions, here are questions that might inform your theology of leadership:
• What core principles or values should guide leadership?
•
What are the goals of leadership?
• When is leadership “effective”?
• What kinds of power/authority should the leader embrace? Avoid?
• How does a theologically-formed leadership view or treat followers?
• What are the “red lines” that a Christian leader should not cross?
• What are the core qualities of a true Christian leader
