The report should be written in the form of a short essay, with a title page specifying the Clinical Application Seminar Series topic and speaker, along with the students name, tutorial time, and word count.
The essay should focus on the way in which specific information in this session altered your views of psychological practice and mental disorders, and how it may influence decision-making in the future. The emphasis is placed on self-reflection. No references are required.
The reflective commentary is based on the perspectives shared by practitioners in the Clinical Application Series. You will select one speakers presentation and reflect on how the information shared in this session influenced your thinking and deepened your understanding of psychological disorders, and practice as a psychologist or mental health professional.
The main questions to guide your reflection are:
What were your views of the mental health profession and the work it entails, before attending the seminar? How were these views formed?
How have your views changed through exposure to the content of the seminar?
How do you believe these changes will impact your future behaviour (e.g., if you were to embark on training and career as a psychologist or mental health professional)?
The reader should be able to follow your journey for themselves and clearly understand how/why you were affected in the way you were.
