The issue is focused on if the legal driving age should be decreased, and I think it shouldn’t be decreased. When a teenager is driving they should be aware of their surroundings and it teaches them their responsibilities. Also, sixteen-year-olds have to become more responsible or they can cause accidents. Even they can get a ticket for not obeying the laws. Another thing is that they drink and drive which causes accidents. The younger drivers have a higher risk of being in an accident than the older drivers. The older drivers are more mature and know what they are doing. Teens can get into car accidents by speeding or drunk driving and can injure themselves or others. So it shouldn’t be lowered due to car accidents and there are nearly 200,000 in California per day. Also, it’s safer for the crashes that happen to teens aged 18 and 16, and 17.
The age limit should be hired because teens can make improper turns and get into an accident. Also, teens can get in accidents by aggressive driving when they are mad. They should not be driving while they are angry because it’s not safe and can go bad. Also when they drive they always text or are on a call with someone they can wreck. Even teens like to eat while driving and can also get into an accident. Also when it rains it can be hard when they are driving. They should only drive to work and back home, and not go anywhere else. Also, they shouldn’t go to parties and drink and then drive back home it’s dangerous. Teens should stay focused on just doing what they have to do. Even driving at night while it’s raining isn’t safe to drive, especially on the highway.
The age limit for driving should be higher than what it is now because teens are immature. I don’t think 16-year-olds should be able to drive because of car accidents. Car accidents are most dangerous if the car rolls over. Even if most people get injured in a car accident or maybe even killed you never know until it happens. Even cars can get in an accident if they take a red light. Also, they can get killed if they don’t put on their seatbelts. Common accidents are probably the rear end or the sideswipe crashes. Also, teens can be in an accident and they can be stuck in a car and it could catch on fire. A drunk teen can hit somebody and then their car can flip. Well, you never know what can happen when you drink and then drive somewhere.
Well, one risk of a teenager driving is that they can get distracted easily. Also, teens speed they all make mistakes and can get into a fatal car accident. They can easily get distracted if their friend is in the car or they are on the phone with them. The second risk is that teens are inexperienced with driving. They have never done it before in their life so it’s new to them. I suggest they shouldn’t drink and drive because it’s not good. Also, they shouldn’t drink if they are underage. It’s important to not drink under the age of 21. Drinking under 21 is illegal and it is also deadly to drink and drive. It’s illegal to drink underage and you can hurt or kill innocent victims. Also, parents should let their teens know that when they drive that they have to have their full attention on the road. Their teens shouldn’t be on their phones while driving.
Most of the accident rates can be lowered if they higher the age to something like 19. Then that will mean there will be no more where they get hurt or worse killed. Young drivers and older ones can cause accidents; therefore it will lower the number of accidents.
