Submit the final publish of your five-paragraph Classification Essay or Cause/Effect Essay of approximately 1,200 to 1,900 words. Be sure to pay attention to your introduction and conclusion.

* Your essay should be written in present tense and employ the use of plenty of specific details.
* Make sure you have carefully edited your work.
* You can write about any topic of your choice. For example, you can classify siblings, friends, parents, customers, eaters, marriages, boyfriends/girlfriends, pet owners, snap chatters, students, etc. You should have at least three categories, but you can have up to seven categories and create shorter paragraphs for each classification. You can get quotes for specific topics in your essay. If you choose cause/effect, you must write about either the causes OR the effects. You cant write about causes and effects. For example, you can write about rising temperatures and how this is causing certain effects in the ocean and ecosystems. But, the essay would be too long if you included causes.
* If you write about something that is already classified or already lists most of the causes/effects, you must conduct excellent research and cite your sources with in-text citations and a Works Cited page. For example, if you talk about Types of Prison Systems Around the World you will most likely have several sources. Start with our online database in the TCC library.
* Be sure to have a strong introduction with a thesis statement and a conclusion that sums up your essay.
* Use 2-7 sources in your essay and cite these sources according to MLA format. Use in-text citations and a Works Cited page.
