Profession Paper Instructions
Format
Write a 4 page paper (excludes title page and reference page), double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font,
1 margins. Save the document as a .doc, .docx, or.rtf (rich text format) document. Submit to the assignment
dropbox in D2L by the deadline designated in the syllabus. Students are welcome (and encouraged) to submit
the paper earlier in the semester.
Required Components
Below are the required components of the paper. Submissions must contain all components. It is very important
to review the enclosed grading rubric plagiarism/proper citation tips prior to beginning your research!
I. Introduction and Description of Profession 20 points maximum
II. Elements of the Chosen Profession (Job Requirements) 20 points maximum
A. Include information on the following 8 categories:
1. Educational requirements
2. Certification/licensure requirements
3. Occupational outlook/demand
4. Average salary scale
5. Professional organization
6. Continuing education requirements
7. Job opportunities
8. Current trends in this industry (use
evidence-based article)
III. Conclusion and Reflection 20 points maximum
IV. Grammar and Spelling 10 points maximum
A. Must be written in a third person perspective
V. Citations 10 points maximum
A. Must use APA formatting
VI. Reference page 10 points maximum
A. Must use APA formatting
VII. Additional Requirements 10 points maximum
A. Must be 4 pages in length
B. Use Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins and double-spaced
C. Includes a complete cover page which provides title, date, class, professor, & student name.
