Causes of death vary depending on race, gender, and age. The top causes of demise in the U.S.A. are heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and stroke. There is a disparity in life expectancy among different ethnic groups. The paper will evaluate the causes of death between Africa Americans and whites.
One of the causes of death is chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention., 2018). Most young African Americans between their 20s and 40s suffer from chronic diseases, which lead to many deaths. On the other hand, whites between the age of 20s and 40s are less likely to die from chronic diseases. Chronic disorders are only evident in old age among whites. Therefore, the difference in death between blacks and whites is due the o economic and social disparity.
In addition, most non-Hispanic blacks’ males die from homicide, especially at a young age. The gap between the young deaths of black aged 18- 34 is broader than that between 35- 49 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention., 2018). Most blacks live in poor conditions and are more prone to violence than whites; therefore, due to these conditions, most young blacks get involved in criminal activities that result in death sometime. The blacks that survive homicide at young age look for better ways of earning and strive to avoid violence in the future.
Finally, other diseases such as cancer and H.I.V. led to the death of many Blacks. Blacks are less privileged in terms of education and economic factors than whites, and they do not get enough preventive measures and treatment, hence the gap in death disparity. However, the deaths caused by H.I.V. have reduced in both races.

The two ethnicity I will compare for this discussion is the Hispanic American male population and the Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islanders American male population. The leading cause of death for Hispanic American male population is heart disease at a rate of 20.2 percent. The second highest rate of death for this group is cancer at 19.8 percent. Now the leading cause of death for Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islanders American male population is cancer at a rate of 25.7 percent. The second highest rate of death for this group is heart disease at 22.5 percent. When comparing the age groups 45 to 64 both Hispanic American male population and the Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islanders American male population both have a leading cause of death of cancer. The Hispanic American male population ages 45 to 64 have a rate of death from cancer at 22.5 percent this is the lowest rate of all age groups. The Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islanders American male population ages 45 to 64 have a rate of death from cancer at 33.7 percent and this is the highest rate of all age groups. The second cause of death for both population groups ages 45 to 64 is heart disease. The Hispanic American male population ages 45 to 64 have a rate of death from heart disease at 20.7 percent and the Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islanders American male population ages 45 to 64 have a rate of death from hearts of heart disease at 23.3 percent (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2019).
