Outline the key aspects of what statistics can and cannot contribute to our
understandings of crime. Provide details about the pitfalls related to data collection
practices. Then explain four difficulties/sensitivities in regard to why it is difficult to
accurately measure violence statistically. For each difficulty/sensitivity provide a variety
of reasons but explain one concrete example in detail. In addition, explain the role sexism
may play in the under reporting of sexual violence.

< An introduction: with a couple of introductory sentences
< Body of paper: paragraphs clearly answering every part of the question (no restrictions in
terms of length and number of paragraphs)
< Conclusion: summary, opinion
The essay should be a minimum of 1200 and a maximum of 1500 words in length, not
including the title page and bibliography. Essays should be typed in 12-point Times New
Roman font, double-spaced, with 1" margins. The test should have a cover page with: your
name, student number, professors name, course code, question you answered and submission
date. References and bibliography should be APA style.
