Step 1: Briefly describe the preliminary need/problem and the organization/business that wants the needs assessment (approximately 1-2 paragraphs).
Step 2: List 5 questions that you would ask of individuals in the organization/business to gain more information about the perceived need/problem and the organization/business itself.
Step 3: Conduct a web-based literature search to understand the need/problem and/or other organizations/businesses that have recently undergone similar experiences (approximately 1-2 pages).
Step 4: Summarize what seems to be the nature of the problem and what might be apparent about “what is” and “what should be” (approximately 1-2 paragraphs).
Step 5: Briefly address the following (approximately 1-2 paragraphs):
1. Does a true need exist (could it be a symptom instead)?
2. Is there a need to collect additional data? If so, what type of data would you collect and why? What questions would be asked and what do you hope to gain from the questions being asked?
