HRD Definition Critique (50 Points)
As the semester progresses, I hope your understanding of HRD as a profession and discipline has progressed as well. For this assignment, please go back to the first chapter and pick up a definition from the definition summary table. The definition could be the one that you really like or that you might not agree with totally.
Then, I want you to critique it using the rubric that has been used to guide the write-up of your own definition throughout the semester. To be specific, I would like you to include the following in your submitted paper:
First, list the definition and its author. Make sure to properly cite its origin or published date and place: the citation in text as well as the reference at the end. Then, state whether you like/agree with the definition. (5 pts)
Second, critique it based on the rubric: whether it is a clear and concise definition that bounds HRD and includes important outcome variables, why and how. This part is the most important part of the assignment, and therefore should be at least 2/3 of your whole paper in length. (25 pts)
Last, if the definition is the one that you really like, conclude your paper by briefly highlighting some good points in the definition; if you do not totally agree with the definition, conclude the paper with a revised or improved definition based on your critique in the second part of this paper. (15 pts)
The whole paper should be 1-2 pages long including reference, double-spaced, times new romans, font size 12. (5 pt)
