1. Discuss the legacy of the Harlem Renaissance. Explain your viewpoint in detail, using passages from any of the works we studied from that period.
2. What chain of events does the dog initiate in Their Eyes Were Watching God? How are these events important to the novel, and what do they say about Janie?
3. What does the title and statement, Their eyes were watching God, actually mean?
4. How does Janies perspective on love evolve throughout the novel?
5. Discuss the complicated personality traits of each of Janies husbands, and how she psychologically responds to the men.
