I have the introduction in the words file ( attach). Please open this file and follow the introduction in my file. I’m researching the effects of climate change on Sequoia National Park. you can think of the introduction as a road map that must answer these three questions for the reader: What was I studying? (National Park) Why was this topic important to investigate? (changes in species or phenomenon over time as global temperatures rise) How will this study advance new knowledge or new ways of understanding? (highlight the scientific correlation between climate change and changes in physical landforms) “This week you will work on developing the Introduction and Background sections of your Research Paper. Keep in mind that the introduction will guide the reader from a general understanding of the landscape, region/location, and native plants and wildlife to a specific topic, how climate change is affecting landscapes globally, and specifically how climate change has modified the physical geography of your National Park. Additionally, the introduction should include a statement of purpose in the form of the research question that your project will aim to answer. For example, how has the landscape changed at Acadia National Park from 1960 – 2010 as a result of climate change? Or, How have the glaciers at Glacier National Park changed from 1960 – 2010 as a result of climate change? For an at-a-glance understanding of the natural physical changes, we’re investigating, view imagery of Lake Mead in Colorado to visually interpret changes that have occurred over time. Make sure to use the slider feature to compare the two sets of imagery (see image below to identify the slider tool, click and drag the slider left and right to move between the datasets)!
