For this paper, please reconsider Joan Didion’s claim that we tell ourselves stories in order to live, but consider also her further claim that writing has not helped her “to understand what it all means.” As you reflect on your own reading and writing, use Didion’s “The White Album” as your point of departure and think about the tension between Didion’s two ideas.
