For this assignment, you must choose an advertisement (magazine, newspaper, poster, or billboard) or a speech (from text, TV, film, etc.) that features some element of human romantic relationships and that you find rhetorically interesting. Youll have to decide what you want to analyze in the text and the larger context in which the selected text appears. Youll need to think about the rhetorical situation (Where is the writer/speaker coming from? Who else cares about this topic?) of your selection, as well as the appeals (ethos, logos, pathos) used to persuade the intended audience.
