Choose a student who is not a nursing major, a senior nursing student and a nurse who has been
practicing for at least two years. Ask them each the following questions:
1. What does a nurse do?
2. Are there any specific skills that they need to perform their role?
3. Do you see nursing as a profession or an occupation?
(For the nursing student and nurse only)
4. Why did you decide to become a nurse?
5. What is the most exciting part of the nurses practice?
Write their responses down and compare and contrast the answers. How do their answers differ
and how are they similar? What is your response to the interviews?
