Answer the following: During your readings this week on Intrinsic Motivation and Types of Extrinsic Motivation, you will notice in the lecture slides that under the section SELF-DETERMINATION THEORY, there is an activity discussed. After reading about self-determination theory and the types of motivation, please look at table 6.2 (in the older edition) or table 5.1 in the new edition, which features an example of the 4 types of extrinsic motivation illustrating different reasons why people recycle. On your own, come up with your own issue (ex: why do I recycle but dont use recycle as its in your text) and provide an example of each type of extrinsic motivation, the external contingency at stake, the reason you do the issue, and an illustrative statement. Follow the format of the table in your text. You can start with any behavior that you do (I gave you the example of recycling and calling grandma, but it can be anything that you do that you value). You can also make up something if you prefer. (SHOULD BE SLIDE 13 AND 14)
