Prompt 1: Take some time this week to perform a Cartesian Meditation. Imagine an evil genius exists who is so powerful that he makes it possible to doubt everything you thought you knew. Meditate on this radical doubt. Let it sink in. Is there anything that you can still know with absolute certainty? If so, what? Include as many key concepts and pieces as possible to explain the doubt and what, if anything, can be known with absolute certainty. Prompt 2: Analyze Descartes’ wax argument to explain how knowledge is possible and how the arguments he develops here support Rationalism.
