A position paper is an essay in which you argue one side of a topic or debate. The great debate I would like you to write about for this class is something humans have been arguing about since the beginning of time: Is a hot dog a sandwich? Using Ted Bergs essay A Hot Dog Is Definitely a Sandwich (available here (https://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/03/a-hot-dog-is-a-sandwich) as your primary source, write a brief essay in which you either agree or disagree with Bergs main argument (hint: its the title of his essay). You should also identify two of Bergs sub-arguments (i.e., the points he makes to support his main argument), accurately summarizing them (using quotations) and either agreeing with these points (explaining why you agree with them and adding your own ideas into the mix) or disagreeing with them (again, explaining why specifically you disagree with them). You can then also add your own arguments (provided they are indeed your arguments, and not ideas you have found on the internet), and/or summarize and reinforce your main argument in your final paragraph.
