This case presents a rather straightforward manufacturing process. The situation requires you
to recommend an aggregate plan for meeting production requirements over the next three
months. These requirements are anticipated to grow substantially over the prior year and
also reach a seasonal peak.
Please include solutions to the following questions in your case study report.
A) What is the business environment of the company?
B) What is the company’s capacity planning strategy? Is it suitable for the goals of a
well-managed company?
C) What are the process characteristics of this manufacturer? Are they appropriate?
D) What are the available and required capacities for the umbroller?
E) What are the alternative manufacturing approaches?
F) What are the tradeoffs in both the short term and long term for the
