Need to Respond to class mate post: To improve a person’s status, education is required. In the healthcare field, we must provide education to our clients so that their health can be enhanced (Falkner, 2018). Health education is an essential component of health promotion. The nursing process was thoroughly developed over the continuum of years of health practice, implementing Evidence-Based practices, years of experience, and overall holistic care. The nursing practice for every issue starts with an assessment of the problem, achieved diagnosis, planning to address the topic, implementation of the nursing plan, and then evaluation of the outcome and the nursing practice steps leading up to the outcome (Toney-Butler & Thayer, 2021). Nutrition affects every life, every family, from birth to death. We have malnutrition, in the form of inadequate calorie intake, poor nutrition in the form of improper nutrition, inadequate foods, highly processed, high fats, and not enough fruits and vegetables and grains. We see overindulgence in diets, leading to obesity, often high in fat and sugar. In our first step, we need to assess the family, what is their state of nutrition, are we finding malnutrition, poor nutrition, over-indulgence, etc. Then we must diagnose why this problem is present in their situation. They might be part of an ethnic or minority group that does not have proper nutritional resources at their disposal. Economic instability or uneducated on proper nutrition can be one of many factors. Next is development of a plan to address the nutrition problem. Implementation of dietary education, access to resources, such as food pantries, community gardens, and other government programs and resources can be instrumental. And then we must evaluate the outcome, and review all the steps of assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation to look for necessary changes if the evaluation step shows any needed improvement areas. References Falkner, A.
