The festival is now managed by a nonprofit organization that goes by the same name, i.e. Sundance Institute. This paper is a review of some of the movies that stood out during the festival in the current year, 2012. It was held from the 19th of January to the 29th of January 2012. This year, just like all the previous years, there were commendable movies shown which portrayed the talent of many directors, actors, screenwriters, etc, and helped them gain a platform to showcase their abilities. Some of the movies have been discussed within the purview of this essay. The movies discussed in the paper are Beasts of the Southern Wild, Like Crazy, ’92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card, 2 Days in New York, 6631144, 5 Broken Cameras, About Face: Supermodels Then and Now. These movies were exceptional on their own, and some of them even won the best awards for the season.
