Pick a controversial topic related to Gender or sexuality. You may choose from the list below or pick your own. If you pick your own, it must be approved by me first.Assigning intersex babies a gender soon after birthAllowing transgender children to start hormone therapyGay parenting and adoptionTeaching gender and sexuality in grade schoolRaising a child without a gender- Make sure you have an intro. paragraph that introduces the topic you are writing about.- Discuss research on the topic using reputable publications (academic and unbiased articles). Make sure you include information from the articles. There should be a minimum of 2 articles.- Interview 3 people on the topic – find out what they know and how they feel about it. Summarize or incorporate important quotes from what they said. Include background information about the people that will tell us a little bit about them and why they feel the way they do (age, sexuality, gender, religiosity, culture, upbringing…). Make sure you reflect on and react to what your interviewees said.- Write up a paper that discusses all sides of the issue. Include information from both your research and your interviews.- The last paragraph should be a reflection paragraph – this is where you can put your own opinion and what you have learned from researching the topic and interviewing people.- Double-spaced, roughly 3-4 pages.- Make sure you write your paper well – free of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Use paragraphs to separate your ideas.
